Bazaars
Build a covered market street as in the Middle East and Asia: a long street with shops on the left and right with a counter, carpets and cloths above your head, lanterns and gates at the ends. Choose the Grand Bazaar of Istanbul with domes, the brick arches of Isfahan, the wooden lattice roofs of Fez, Khan el-Khalili in Cairo, the long street of Damascus, a taqi from Bukhara or a bazaar in northern India. At the bottom you can read how everything is calculated.
Point at a block for the explanation. Click a block to mark it as placed. The side view shows the section at the chosen column, Layer shows the chosen layer from above.

A number is the count of blocks of that part in that layer, in the colour of the part. Click a layer to see it from above.
Build tips
- Put crafts together as they were: in a town, smiths, bakers and weavers often had their own street. Think of Smith Lane or Tanners’ Row.
- Every villager profession in Minecraft has its own workstation. A building with the right workstations does double duty when villagers live in it.

History and fun facts
The covered market
The word bazaar comes from the Persian ‘bazar’, market. The Kapalıçarşı in Istanbul, the ‘covered market’, was built after the conquest of the city in 1453 and grew into a city within the city with dozens of streets, halls and gates. The Qaisariyya in Isfahan was laid out under Shah Abbas at the start of the seventeenth century around the great square. Covered streets kept out the sun and the rain and made it possible to close the gates at night.
Streets per trade
In a bazaar the traders sat together by kind: carpets in one street, gold in another, spices and copper elsewhere. In Fez the narrow covered streets of the medina with wooden lattice above are a World Heritage Site. In Cairo Khan el-Khalili dates from 1382. In Bukhara the covered domed halls (taqi) at the street crossings have been preserved, where the traders of the Silk Road sat.

About this tool
With this planner you build a covered market street in Minecraft, in the style of one of seven cultures. On both sides stand shops with a counter and goods, and above the street a dome, barrel vault, lattice or flat roof.
You see the build plan layer by layer, a 3D preview and the block list, and you can download the bazaar as a schematic for WorldEdit or Litematica.
Frequently asked questions
How do I build a bazaar in Minecraft?
Choose a culture, for example the Grand Bazaar or the souk of Fez, and set the width of the street and the length. The tool puts shops with a counter on the left and right, a covering of domes, barrel vault or lattice, and gates at the ends. Build the walls and piers first, then the roof, and place the goods afterwards.
How do I make a bigger bazaar?
Make the street up to 45 blocks long and place several bazaars across each other, like the streets of a real bazaar. A han or caravanserai at the end fits well, and you find those under Trading posts.
Which cultures can I choose for a bazaar?
Seven: Istanbul, Isfahan, Fez and Marrakesh, Cairo, Damascus, Bukhara and northern India. Each has its own materials, covering and colours, and you can change everything.
